The use of light in the Teatre el Musical reaches, among Valencian architecture, one of its most poetic, dramatic and glorious expressions.

Shapes, volumes, lights and shadows are drawn before our eyes. Jets of light that penetrate between the folds of its wooden ceilings or reflected between the surfaces of large concrete boxes converted into skylights.

To inhabit the emptiness of its ruin is to understand the importance that another type of light – electric light – has also had in provoking emotion in the heart of a building that was, for so many years, a cinema. For the revelation of this light, however, the absence of the first light is necessary.

Already in the dark, ‘Sota la llum’ will be a show of electric light and music, presented as a succession of images and rhythms that go through the architecture of the theater with episodes of mystery, lights and shadows. All this, capable of mixing with everything and with each other, in the middle of a lobby converted into a dance floor. It is then when the incidence of light on the concrete will reveal the wooden texture that one day, while the building was born, was its skin.

In the end, they are just a succession of images and suppositions; electronic games between bodies that happen again under the light.

El uso de la luz en el Teatre el Musical alcanza, de entre la arquitectura valenciana, una de sus expresiones más poéticas, dramáticas y gloriosas.

Formas, volúmenes, luces y sombras se dibujan ante nuestros ojos. Chorros de luz que penetran entre los pliegues de sus techos de madera o reflejados entre las superficies de grandes cajas de hormigón convertidas en lucernarios.

Habitar el vacío de su ruina supone entender la importancia que otro tipo de luz –la luz eléctrica–, ha tenido también a la hora de provocar emoción en el corazón de un edificio que fue, durante tantos años, un cine. Para la revelación de esta luz, eso sí, se necesita la ausencia de la primera.

Ya en la oscuridad, ‘Sota la llum’ será un espectáculo de luz y música eléctricas, planteado como una sucesión de imágenes y ritmos que recorren la arquitectura del teatro con episodios de misterio, luces y sombras. Todo ello, capaz de mezclarse con todo y entre sí, en medio de un vestíbulo convertido en pista de baile. Es entonces cuando la incidencia de la luz sobre el hormigón revelará la textura de madera que un día, mientras el edificio nacía, fue su piel.

Al final, son sólo una sucesión de imágenes y suposiciones; unos juegos electrónicos entre los cuerpos que suceden de nuevo bajo la luz.

Colectivo Resto: Miradors de l’Horta is a festival of ephemeral installations in L’Horta Nord organized by @turismecarraixet that unites design and garden culture.
The installation we present, NOMADLAND, is an orchard in movement, the orchard that harvests what it wants and where it wants. It is our reflection on the consumption of fruits and vegetables out of season.
We wanted to do something special for the opening and closing.
Sergi Palau @sergipalau.w and Gamelán Psíquico @gamelan_psiquico of @abstrakce_ (Abstrakce records) trace the route and will accompany us generating a beautiful visual and sound journey.

La propuesta sonora y visual, toma como punto de partida tres de las más icónicas bandas sonoras de Miguel Asins Arbó: Plácido, El Verdugo y Bienvenido Mr Marshall para hacer una relectura de las mismas a través de su deconstrucción y procesado electrónico. El conjunto presenta un paisaje sonoro en el que el ruido de cintas magnetofónicas y altavoces antiguos dialoga con ensoñaciones musicales que disparan la memoria y el recuerdo de unas melodías que más que bandas sonoras forman ya parte de nuestro imaginario cultural.

Desde lo visual Sergi Palau despliega su imaginario visual a partir de imágenes de las mismas 3 obras que, procesadas digitalmente, buscan crear una nueva narrativa conjuntamente con la pieza musical, para trasladar el universo Berlanga en una nueva dimensión, hacia el siglo XXI.
